New Zealand is a founding member of the EBRD with an 0.04 per cent share. New Zealand does not receive EBRD funding, but we encourage companies from New Zealand to apply for procurement and consultancy opportunities associated with our projects.
New Zealand banks also participate in the Trade Facilitation Programme as confirming banks. Since inception, the TFP has supported 12 export and import transactions for New Zealand companies for a total €13.76 million, for transactions which were initiated by banks in the EBRD countries of operation and confirmed by banks in both New Zealand and abroad. One New Zealand bank and branch of bank have joined the programme as Confirming Banks (all figures as of December 2023).
From 2018 to 2022, entities from New Zealand won 13 consultancy contracts worth €2,578,413.00.
